Best Palm Beach Golf Communities

Gia and I have torn up a few golf courses these past few years, so we thought it would be fun to come up with a list of favorite divot memories that we could share. First, let me preface this article by saying that Gia and I have absolutely no empirical data or survey results whatsoever in arriving at Best Of The Best Palm Beach Golf Communities, so let’s just say that these are our personal favorites for a variety of different reasons. The list though became so big that we decided to share our favorites by way of a series of articles, so if your own favorite Palm Beach golf course, or the Palm Beach golf community where you live isn’t on here, fret not as chances are it may well make a subsequent article.

Second, a slight pause for a necessary disclaimer: This is by no means an exhaustive list of Palm Beach Golf Communities (of which there are many), and this post certainly isn’t intended to upset the proud members of any of the fantastic golf communities that we’ve enjoyed visiting and who extended their hospitality to us and who didn’t make our final shortlists (and didn’t laugh at our swings).

There were so many golf communities on our initial drive through (no pun intended) that in trying to narrow down the many wonderful golf communities in Palm Beach County that Gia and I have enjoyed visiting over the last few years, we focused on some common themes – quality of golf course and golfing facilities, clubhouse amenities, golf programs, social activities and family atmosphere, membership fees and/or equity membership, food and beverage choices within the development, ambience, friendliness, security and overall visitor experience……the last point simply can’t be emphasized enough as far as I am concerned, because if a visitor to the golf community has had a wonderful experience as a member guest, then being a resident of that palm beach golf community will undoubtedly meet their lifestyle expectations.

….so in no particular order, strike that – in alphabetical order – and without further ado, the Best Palm Beach Golf Communities Part I (lol) in our humble opinion are…. [drumroll]….

1. Bear Lakes Golf and Country Club – West Palm Beach, Florida

Just in case Mr. Nicklaus comes across this article I wanted to make sure that I was in his good graces (just kidding Jack). That being said, Bear Lakes Golf and Country Club has to be one of the most eye-catching and visually appealing golf courses these eyes have ever seen. It’s also worth mentioning that a number of current Tour Players  frequent the facilities so if you get an opportunity to pop in, please let Boo Weekly, Rickie Fowler, current World Number One Luke Donald (Luuuuukkkkke) and Troy Merritt know that we said fore ….I mean hello.

2. Boca Raton Resort & Club – Boca Raton, Florida

What is particularly unique about the Boca Raton Resort & Club, and I am not referring to the fact that it is unmistakably pink in color, is that in addition to luxury condominiums, there are single family million dollar golf homes as well as Hotel and resort style facilities (Gia has a soft spot for their Spa facilities btw) – it’s also the venue where I posted my lowest ever round of golf, but that’s a story for another day.

3. Breakers Ocean Golf Club – Palm Beach, Florida

While Mr. Trump’s place didn’t make the shortlist (and that’s only because we haven’t yet been invited there yet), the Breakers Ocean Golf Club did – I haven’t had the opportunity to play the Rees Jones Golf Course at Breakers West yet, but the Ocean Course is incredible. The Hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the links itself is the oldest 18-hole golf course in Florida – if those Greens could only talk, what stories they would tell!

4. PGA National Golf Club – Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

PGA National Golf Club, also known as PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. No list of Best Palm Beach Golf Communities could possibly exclude the PGA National Golf Club. I can recall my first visit there in 1999 as if it were yesterday. With 5 golf courses, and now home to the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic as well as host to numerous other Championships, this is a golf lover’s paradise – impeccable facilities, teaching, beautifully manicured and maintained, the PGA National Golf Club left an incredible impression on me, and I can absolutely assure everyone that I left a tremendous number of divot impressions there as well :)

There were so many palm beach golf communities that Gia and I have been to and enjoyed that we could go into detail on (but that would require a book), so here is a list of some of the many other palm beach golf communities that made the final shortlist for Part I in the series:

Boca Raton Golf Communities

Broken Sound Boca Raton

Boca West Golf and Country Club

Boca Grove Golf and Country Club

Woodfield Golf and Country Club

St. Andrews Country Club

The Polo Club Boca Raton
