HAFA Cooperative Short Sale Bank of America Incentive Update
Hi there … this is Gia Freer from Palm Beach Premier Real Estate here in Boca Raton, Florida.
I just got off the phone with the awesome folks at Bank of America and have been told that their HAFA/Cooperative Short Sale incentive program has been extended until December 12th, 2011. This decision to extend the deadline came out today.
Seller’s interested in this program, (the Bank of America program that offers a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $20,000), must initiate this short sale process prior to the 12th of December in order to pre-qualify. Not all properties will qualify and you cannot have an offer on the property at the time that you apply for this program. The lender will review the hardship, property type and type of loan currently on the property. Primary residences are the only property that the lender is reviewing. Investment properties, second homes and vacant land do not qualify. The property must be in Florida and must close by August 31, 2012.
If the property qualifies for the HAFA program and the relocation incentive, the seller will receive both incentives according to Bank of America. All HAFA short sales will receive a deficiency release according to our sources at Bank of America.
For those folks who are not eligible or do not qualify for this new Bank of America incentive program or do not qualify for any other loan modification program through your lender, please call us today. We can help. A short sale may be your only option.
